Atari and developer Digital Eclipse launch a Toy Story double pack on October 15: Toy Story: Retro Roundup!, a six-game collection spanning the PS1 and Game Boy Color era, and Toy Story 3 Complete Edition, a 4K/60fps remaster of the 2010 platformer built around the third film. Both titles release individually or as a combo pack on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC, and it is the first time several of these games have ever been officially available on Xbox hardware.
What's in Toy Story: Retro Roundup
Retro Roundup gathers six games across 11 original console and handheld versions, most of which have never been officially re-released. The lineup is built for players who grew up with the PS1 era as much as collectors chasing games that skipped Xbox entirely on their first release. Digital Eclipse built its name on exactly this kind of work, having previously handled archival collections for franchises including Mega Man and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the same team structure is behind the Toy Story line-up: period-accurate emulation first, modern options layered on top rather than baked in.
- Toy Story (1995)
- Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue! (1999)
- Toy Story 2 (1999, Game Boy Color)
- Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (2000)
- Toy Story Racer (2001)
- A Bug's Life (1998), included as a bonus title
Every game can run in its original presentation or with upgraded resolution and filtering, and the collection adds modern conveniences on top: a rewind function, save states anywhere, and a practice mode with guided walkthroughs for the platforming sections that aged roughly. Rex's Cheat Codes unlock characters, levels, invincibility and unlimited lives without digging up an old code sheet.

Toy Story 3 Complete Edition: what's new
The second half of the pack rebuilds the 2010 Avalanche Software game at 4K and 60fps. Story Mode still recreates set pieces from the film, including the train rescue and Operation Playtime, and lets players switch between Woody, Buzz and Jessie mid-level, each with different traversal abilities. Toy Box Mode, the open-world sandbox set in Woody's Roundup, returns with its quest and customization systems intact.
Complete Edition earns its name by folding in content that was previously locked to the PlayStation 3 release, most notably Emperor Zurg as a playable character in Toy Box Mode, along with four additional Theme Packs for decorating the town. It supports local two-player co-op in both modes, and the resolution and framerate bump matters more here than it sounds: the original 2010 release ran well under 1080p and 30fps on consoles of that generation, so Toy Box Mode's sandbox towns and crowds of toy NPCs should read noticeably cleaner on current hardware.
Price and platforms
Both games are listed for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. Digital pricing has been reported at roughly $24.99 per game, with a $39.99 physical double pack. Physical copies are limited to Switch, Switch 2 and PS5; PS4, Xbox and PC buyers get digital-only editions. Preorders are open now ahead of the October 15 release.

Extras: a virtual museum and developer interviews
Digital Eclipse's archival wing gets its usual treatment here. Retro Roundup ships with a virtual museum of design documents and vintage development photos, plus six behind-the-scenes interview segments featuring Pixar head of story Jason Katz, Toy Story voice actor Jim Hanks, Disney and Pixar Games VP and GM Luigi Priore, and TT Games founder Jon Burton, whose studio developed several of the games now being collected. A built-in music player collects the soundtracks from every game in the collection, including scores that never got an official release, and the practice mode's guided walkthroughs double as a quiet nod to how much harder some of these 1990s platformers are than modern players tend to expect.
