Solving the Tidal Observatory Puzzle
The mirror alignment puzzle stumps everyone. Here is the exact order, plus what to do if you rotated the wrong lens first.

Deepwater
The Tidal Observatory asks you to align four mirrors so the moonbeam hits the tide gauge. The catch is that every mirror also nudges its neighbour, so the obvious order never works.
The exact order
- Rotate the north mirror twice.
- Rotate the east mirror once.
- Rotate the south mirror three times.
- Leave the west mirror alone and pull the lever.
If you already rotated the wrong lens
Pull the lever once with nothing aligned. The observatory resets all four mirrors to their starting positions, then follow the order above.
Pro tipThe beam has to hit the gauge at high tide. If the puzzle looks right but nothing happens, wait by the window for the tide bell.
